Background
During COVID, our patients with respiratory issues were the most impacted. Given that they were the most vulnerable, it was very important for us to monitor them remotely. So, we needed to monitor their therapy remotely via our software. It would help doctors and clinicians monitor patients remotely and only those patients who needed actual attention would have to come in person.
How did we approach this challenge?
COVID was a challenging time and the biggest challenge was to get consensus between different doctors. Various doctors treated patients in different disease states. That’s why we had to give them flexibility to help monitor patients as per their criteria.
Design sprint
The design sprint was interesting wherein users were interviewed virtually. Virtual interviews started from this time. We were getting used to talking to different personas (like clinicians and managers). Our goal was to release something quickly in the market so that we could get the critical patients home. This was really helpful in Europe and LATAM because it helped free up beds.
Final Thoughts
This was a helpful experience because it help us tweak our brain into doing something different than what we were used to doing. We got the “Peter Farrell Innovation Award” because of this useful innovation.
